Purity is said to have made a comeback, and what better way to express your vow for purity than with precious purity rings. Sayings like, "True Love Waits," and "One Life One Love," are the usual engravings. The whole practice of wearing purity rings came about in the 1990's. It was used as a way to discourage young people from premarital sex. Even after two decades have passed, purity or chastity rings are still well known and used.

More often than now, promise rings are worn in the left hand around the ring finger by an individual who has made a commitment to stay a virgin until they are married. Another popular way of wearing them is by using them as a necklace around the neck. Even though the movies and society reflect otherwise, purity rings and the concept of staying pure is becoming more popular. Teens who want to be different and are not afraid to remain celibate until marriage will find that wearing purity rings will express their opinions clearly. This will mark their difference with their peers, those who just give into promiscuity without much thought.
